It's not just you, they do look different - somehow as if they tried to make them look like always but their faces are somehow different.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Oh, I didn?t mean to make anyone fret! Don?t worry, I?m sure AG won?t do anything as drastic as retiring a doll, especially after the huge response to Felicity?s semi-retirement. It's just odd that there aren't any Kirsten books Quote:
Do you really think they'd retire one of the orginial three? *cries* I'm ordering Kirsten tomorrow because I just adore her collection!
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agree, they do look a little odd. Maybe they did that on purpose? Perhaps the illustrators are trying to make them look older or more mature, since the mysteries take place after the original six books (right?)Quote:
Thanks for the info! Is it just me, or do the girls not look quite "right" on the covers of the mystery books? I'm sure it's a different illustrator but they just don't look like their "regular" selves to me.
OMG I just thought of something horrible-What if they're redoing the Kirsten illustration? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I love her illustrations! And I'm definatly no fan of the changes of illustration, exscept maybe Molly, some of the originals were weird, especially B-day.
I bet Kirsten's will be redone... and I'd almost put my bottom dollar on the notion that she's definitely NOT up for retirement. Maybe AG is coordinating the major Felicity re-release (with her movie?) to have new covers and then do Kirsten at the same time, as it seems the other covers were redone two or three at a time. Ugh, the Kirsten pics were always my favorites, I'd rather they not redo them. I'm glad all my books (except Kit and Kaya of course) are the old white editions.
I thought the Samantha on the cover of the Samantha mystery looked way too old, but the story sounds like it might be pretty good.
I hope they don't review the Kirsten illustrations either. They are perfect for her time period. I was really sad when they did the Samantha ones over again because I didn't like them nearly as much as the original ones.
If there is a Felicity movie than maybe they are re-doing all of the Felicity illustrations again like they did with Samantha. That could take a while. That's sad too because I thought the Felicity illustrations were perfect for her stories.
